The rain last week ruined my Polar. I have tried a new battery and drying it out for several days, but no-go. Time for a new unit. What's the recommendation? I need pace, mileage, time and cardiac. After that, I am not sure. I have seen the Garmins, Catseye and Polar. I dont have anything on my mtn bike either so maybe there is something that will work on both?

I appreciate any help and suggestions offered.

I love my Garmin 305 - it does all that and more - and you can set it up for multiple bikes - and it's easy to move from one bike to another - recognizes all Garmin accessories (cadence sensor, HR monitor). Look on Ebay for a good deal.

I have a Garmin Edge 705 it does everything that you want and the things that Sarah mentioned about her Garmin. The 705 lets you beam the route between other 705 units. That is a great feature. I also like that you can pick how many fields of data that you want the unit to display. It is very easy to move between different bikes. Just like Sarah said look on ebay for a deal. The Garmin Edge 705 is discontinued but you can find them on ebay and at the Garmin outlet website. Many are Garmin factory refurbished now.
