The following is an email from her hiking friends in Cookeville/Sparta area:
Cindy’s sister called today at 3:30. She said Cindy had shown signs of improvement, such as opening her eyes and saying her name.
This only happened one time, the neurologist is very pessimistic about her quality of life because there is so much brain damage.
This afternoon they will begin to try and wean her from the ventilator.
If you would care to send the family a message, do it via sending it to Cindy’s email address, they are monitoring her computer.

Cindy had a stroke on Tuesday. She may have had a second stroke since her admission to the hospital. She remains unconscious and her neurologist says that the outlook isn't good.
Her family says that they would welcome visitors today. Cindy is in Williamson Medical Center in Franklin. The family can be reached by Cindy's cellphone.

Thanks for the update George. I went by the hospital Saturday and it was sad to see her. Her sisters really appreciate the phone calls, visits from people who know her. I encourage everyone to send an email of encouragement and support.
