The 2012 Kick Off Ride will be April 7 at the Blackman Community Center, 4310 Manson Pike, 37129. We will have a long ride of 35-40 miles leaving at 8:00AM and a CZ ride of about 15 miles leaving at 9:30AM. Lunch will be catered by Moe's and a bike maintenance workshop led by Jim Short follows lunch. Moe's charges by the person so we need to have a good idea of how many will be eating. Any of the more "mellow" riders going to tackle the longer route? I need to start getting in some longer rides but I can't keep up with those who hammer! I'm probably averaging high 13 to low 14 mph on 20-25 mile rides but I'm not sure if that would be my average on a 35-40 mile ride.

I'll plan to ride the CZ route if nobody wants/needs a slower pace as I neither want to ride alone nor feel like I'm slowing anybody else down. Let me know!

Wish Paul and I could make this ride, but I'm running a half marathon in Lynchburg that day. Maybe we'll try to make it to some club rides this year.

I am going to bring Yukio on this one and we will be looking at the longer route at the pace you are saying so maybe we can ride with you also.

The way Yukio passed Bob and I going up Bradyville Hill Road on Saturday he will have no trouble doing the long ride.
