2011 Ride of Silence @ 7pm, Wed.- May 18th

Please make plans to join the 2011 Ride of Silence leaving at 7 pm from the East side of the Courthouse on the Murfreesboro Square this Wed., May 18th @ 7 pm. Contact me if you have questions-

THE RIDE OF SILENCE WILL NOT BE QUIET

On May 18, 2011 at 7:00 PM, the Ride of Silence will begin in North America and roll across the globe. Cyclists will take to the roads in a silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways. Although cyclists have a legal right to share the road with motorists, the motoring public often isn't aware of these rights, and sometimes not aware of the cyclists themselves.

In 2003, Chris Phelan organized the first Ride of Silence in Dallas after endurance cyclist Larry Schwartz was hit by the mirror of a passing bus and was killed.

Larry was a well known ultracyclist.

Hope you can join the ride.

How long is the ride and what time should we be finished? Do we need lights?

Re: 2011 Ride of Silence @ 7pm, Wed.- May 18th

Cary:

Is the ride at 6 or 7? I thought the calendar said 6.

Thanks

Ken- the calendar is wrong- the ride is at 7 pm.

You will not need lights as we will be finished by 7:30 pm and it's light until 7:50 pm (question asked by Sara)

I have confirmed that we will have motorcycle police escort for our Ride of Silence. Be ready to leave the square at 7:00 sharp.
