Just want to thank everybody in your club who assisted us, and in fact are still assisting, in planning a group ride we are doing next year through your area.
In case you missed earlier posts, a small group of us - between 14 and 18 riders- take two vans each year and do a multi-day fun ride. This year we rode the Undergroupnd Railroad Route from Owensboro, KY to Mobile, Al. Unfortunately, we had to cut it a day and half short due to a serious accident involving one of our riders (he is OK now) One year, our group started in Dover, DE. and rode to Charleston, SC., via Williamsburg and the Outer Banks. Another year was Land Between the Lakes National Recreation area to New Orleans following the Natchez Trace and Mississippi River Trail.
Anyway, we LOVE to ride in Tennessee and it is one of our favorite states to ride in. For 2008, our ride is planned for April 25-May 4. It will start in Natchez and ride the Trace to the terminus. From there we will take backroads to Lepiers Fork and from there over to Murfreesboro. Then we will do the Tour de Cure route from Murfreesboro to Chattanooga via Monteagle.
Also, we will be in Murfreesboro on May 2, riding on May 3 to Monteagle via the Tour de Cure Route. We will satrt from Murfreesboro Square around 0800 on May 3 (Saturday). Any of you who would like to ride with us are more than welcome. We provide sag support as well as cold beer for anybody riding the whole way to Monteagle!
