Successful Texas Band has Immediate Opening for Bassist!

Greetings from Texas,

Kevin from the Cosmic Dust Devils here. We have an IMMEDIATE opening for a bassist, with gigs pending. (The current band members live in Marble Falls, South Austin and Martindale (near San Marcos).

Our goal is to bring on a full-time member ASAP. We played over 100 shows last year, and we will have surpassed that number by the end of this year. We have well over 40+ originals, and we perform a few covers, from Steve Earle to Merle Haggard, to Janis... We perform regionally all over the state, with plans to break into the surrounding areas next year. Our investor has offered his tour bus for our use on longer runs away from the Hill Country area.

We are currently working with producer/investor Lew Curatolo, who is eager to help us put our "team" together and get us placed on national charts. He is 110% behind us, and considers us to be "rebels" because of our musical diversity. Last week, we began a recording project at Willie Nelson's Pedernales Studios. Lew flew in noted Muscle Shoals/Nashville engineer Pete Greene. The sessions have now been postponed until this bassist position has been filled.

Please visit our website at www.cosmicdustdevils.com The sound bytes are from our debut 2002 release, which has done quite well for us. Since that time, we have adopted a grittier, more stripped-down feel to the new material. Described as "Farm-to-Market Rock 'n' Roll", we have done quite well in the Texas music genre, but our producer really wants us to start thinking nationally.

Each member of the band is a professional, and we are looking for someone to join us, to bring professionalism, personality and warmth to our "family".

Here's what we require. Please take a moment to be sure that you fit all the critera. If you are interested and confident, give us a call immeditately, as we are eager to being working towards bringing our new bassist aboard. We will do everything we can to make this transition quick and painless...with a lot of good things on the horizon. We work VERY hard, but we have a lot of fun playing music together, and we hope you'd be interested in auditioning us, as well. We can help with temporary accommodations if you are hired.

1.) Complete confidence and knowledge of your instrument, with attention to groove, meter, dynamics and performing parts that fit the songs. Must be able to be creative in coming up with parts for new material, and an ability to improvise.

2.) Sense of humor

3.) Career-minded, motivated to help promote the band and be a "team player."

4.) Free of attachments, with a flexible schedule. Road-ready. (We travel out of town frequently, sometimes for 3-4 days at a time, with plans for longer trips.)

5.) Comfortable with country, blues, and classic rock styles.

6.) Absolutely no substance abusers. (We can drink beer with the best of 'em, but the music ALWAYS comes first.)

7.) Great sounding, well-maintained gear. (New strings, tuner, attention to intonation, etc...)

8.) Studio and live experience.

9.) Dressing appropriately for gigs, image-conscious.

10.) Dependible. (Returning phone calls immediately, showing up on time for rehearsals, gigs, sessions...)

11.) We would ideally like someone to join who does not have other "side projects" where they have committments to other bands/gigs, which gets in the way of our scheduling. (However, we are flexible on this one, if necessary.)

Thanks for your interest. Look forward to hearing from you.
