Time to close this forum

Apart from provide a platform for people to anonymously slag others off, what is the purpose of this forum? I see someone is having a pop at the youngsters who do the video footage not just for the shirt vote (which you can't prove) but also, unbelieveably, for their camera work. If it wasn't for them and their initiative, you wouldn't have a fúcking FREE highlights service. Besides which, I bet the anonymous príck slagging them has never lifted a finger to help out and improve the experience for those who love following the club.
This site is becoming a bit of an embarrassment/joke (please delete where applicable)which is poorly designed and rarely updated so do everyone a favour and get rid.

Steve

all forums in theory give people a platform an opportunity to be "anonymous" (I mean "Steve" is hardly narrowing it down now is it?)

as you say "someone" is having a pop at the youngsters...one post out of thousands. get some perspective. i live in york and positively rely upon their service and have done since they started.

you are right, you can't "prove" anything by the shirt vote. for example, you can't "prove" that every single vote was one vote/one individual, nor can you disprove it. that was the biggest fault of the vote process in general.

it is quite amusing how you wish to slag one individual posting here and say "the anonymous príck slagging them has never lifted a finger to help out and improve the experience for those who love following the club", yet as "steve" you wish to slag the people here for providing an alternative forum which you are free to be involved in or simply ignore...no-one forces you to post here.

what i find amusing is that the BTN site has had posts from Jerry on it in the past which I would suggest were "an embarrassment/joke" yet that is what you get for a public forum (by default) - open access and open views. that is why by you posting here you have become a part of this forum.

and, just to quantify my comments before you come back with any sort of response, I (like many others who post regularly on both forums) know the origins of both sites and the people behind both. so i'm not taking sides here, just letting you know the score.

and, just to prove i am not another "anonymous ******** my real name is Lloyd Chambers and my email address is bass_loser@yahoo.com - if you wish to discuss this further, be my guest. incidentally i have sponsored the game on december 29th (does that count as lifting a finger?) in memory of Chris Small, who looked after the BTN site for a while and had friends behind both forums. if you wish to donate some money towards the cost of this (and apologies if I already know you, just that "Steve" is a little anonymous) then i would gladly accept it.

your shout mate...isn't that waht public forums are all about?

Re: Time to close this forum

I think these forums have become a victim of the success of Bromley over the past couple of years. There has been a lot of postings this season which have been negative and knocking the club, but I feel these have been by people who weren't around in the darker days and have somehow been spoilt over the past couple of years. For the older fan we know what it was like in the old days and can only revel in the current glory of the club.

On a personal note this forum is always good for getting results for those difficult away games which I can't always make.

At the end of the day, opinions are like a**holes - everyone's got one and most of them stink....

Re: Time to close this forum

Of my behalf I am a grateful one to the forums that have given me the opportunity to know different people and a little but to the Bromley fc. To part of knowing that it happens in the sport, and opposing good people. I believe that we would have (allows me to include me) that all to be but united
For I finish: I am anonymous (if he needs my alone data he should request them to me), and Argentinean. Steve you decide my destination.

Re: Time to close this forum

I wasn't going to post my opinions on these forums anymore but as Lloyd(aka. Brass Loser) has brought my name to the table I should respond,
I don't think we should scrap this forum or any other they are a good place for fans to express there thoughts like life not everyone going to agree with ones opinion but if you haven't got an opinion you must be dead already ,
ok some like to hind behind a silly name but is that wrong its not for me but an individual has a right to make up there own mind under what name they post and some are very amusing,
what we have to remember is that these forum are only used by a small minority of the fan base of which most can see no wrong with the set up of the club but like life we all know this is not true and there is always things to work on to make things better,
the fans I drink and watch the game with are very much of the same opinions as me but don't bother with forums as they see them as bit of a joke and not worth the effort and of course a lot of our fans of a certain age and don't even have a computer,
I know some of the younger fans will find that strange but 20% of the population don't use a PC so why would the Bromley fan base be any different,
as for the chaps who do the highlights they do a brilliant job and we should all thank them there are many that can't get to every game or like Lloyd and Will live a long way who use the service and find there work first class,
anyway the one thing I think we can all agree on is that we want the best for the club and success and after watching that shower last night that call themselves an England team aren't we lucky to follow a team like Bromley FC that have a majority of players that want to win and play with heart an passion,
onwards to Saturday all the best.

Re: Time to close this forum

I actually think that at least one of the forums should be closed down. I have no particular preference which one - I tend to post on the bromleyfc.com one because that was the first one I discovered, although the pop ups do their best to try & play havoc with the pc. I just don't think that we are big enough to need 3 forums.

Re: Time to close this forum

forums are the modern day fanzines in many respects - created for the love of the club by people who love the club. why is there an issue with how many there are? if you don't want to read/post on one/all, THEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO! it really is very simple children.

i am still awaiting my email from the ever so un-anonymous "Steve), but, unsurprisingly, nothing as yet. unless of course he has done the right thing and just left those who wish to read/post here to do so.

sweet.
