New Kit!

Following the sad demise of Valsport in this country the Club have been unable to provide any replica shirts so far this season. We have therefore been looking to get next season's kit organised as soon as possible.

After discussions with various potential new suppliers we have decided to go with a Kent-based company, Accused Ltd, who are based in Deal and currently supply the Scottish National Team as well as various club sides at all levels. We have narrowed our choice down to two kits and we would now really like you the supporters to help us.

Please use the poll on the right to select which of the following two kits you would like to see Bromley Football Club play in next season (both shirts will be teamed with black shorts and socks).

Re: New Kit!

For some reason Kit 2 is winning. What's going on?? It's almost as bad as that nasty black and white stripe shirt we had a few years ago. Hopefully common sense will prevail...

Re: New Kit!

My ideal kit = replica of the amateur cup winning shirt. ie all white with a large Bromley badge on it. But having said that, kit 1 will have to do....

Re: New Kit!

I,ts definitely kit 1 for me. Kit 2 looks a bit
unbalanced and reminds me of the shirts worn by
Fulham a couple of seasons ago. Not that I,ve got
anything against Fulham mind. Kit 1 just looks
that little bit more classy and stremlined. By
the way am I the only Brom fan who,s got the blue
away shirt?

kit one without question - kit 2 is just some flash ******** for people who think watching "their" team down the pub on Sky is being a supporter...it epitomises everything rubbish about football these days.

and i'm with Col - white socks!!!

I can't believe anyone's voting for Kit 2. Come on people - have some sense.

Also agree with white socks.

It's kit 1 all the way baby. Kit 2 would have been alright if both arms were black, but it looks like something the blackshirts might have worn circa 1936....

Re: New Kit!

No but what they have realised is that if you clear your cookies you can vote as many times as you like,
just look at the number of votes shame it was good idea for the fans to choose and kit 1 would have won with a fair vote I'm sure.

Re: New Kit!

How can it be a true reflection of what the supporters would like to see when the vast majority of those voting are the younger generation who are computer literate with web access. I can think of a substantial number of long established supporters who attend week in and week out home and away who have no idea the vote is going on because they are of the older generation who do not know how to use computers or have web access.

A true reflection would have given these people a vote, or do only the younger generation's views count!!!

And no I am not an older supporter nor a younger one.

Re: New Kit!

Although for my sins I like Kit 2, I have voted and had people vote for Kit 1 more.

I like the idea about the vote, but had they just put out Kit 1 as the new strip I don't think anyone would've minded as it looks like every other new kit we have..

What world do you live in thinking that the older generation do not know how to use computers or have web access and its the younger generation that will buy the kit and wear it

Re: New Kit!

I am not for one minute suggesting that all the older generation are not computer literate - I know many who are. All I am saying is that not everyone who supporters Bromley has the knowledge and/or access to the web to be able to vote - does that mean their views don't count? Or just because they won't be wearing replica shirts they shouldn't be able to give their preference?

I do like the idea of having a say in the new kit, but it has to be a fair vote - I don't think this one is as it is obvious that there is some sort of voting scam going on as the majority of posts seem to be in favour of kit 1 yet kit 2 is always ahead. In addition our crowds have been around 500 ish yet there has been over 900 votes - are people voting more than once?

Re: New Kit!

People voting more than once? Surely not...!!!

Interesting to note that Havant & Waterlooville have the same thing with their kit needing to be replaced this season. They've got a choice of 2 different kits and have an example of each in their club shop where you can have a feel the fibre of the fabric and then vote there and then, miraculously with something called a pen and paper. No online vote as such for those who can't make it to the ground....

Re: New Kit!

One of those young kids is set on making sure Kit 2 wins the vote what ever happens,
I'm sure when the club see the numbers they will see this way of voting is a nonsence and scrap it,
I think I would prefer the players to choose they have got the wear the bloody thing after all.

Re: New Kit!

can't we have a re-vote in the clubshop at the next home match. Just about everyone i've spoken to prefers kit 1 but the voting was rigged on the website by a minority. If no one likes it then it probably won't sell as many

Totally agree.
It's a proper fix as all I know hate kit 2 as well.
If we're going to do it, do it the right way!

Re: New Kit!

I reckon the vote was rigged by someone at Accused, the manufacturer.

Kit 2 is clearly **** surplus stock which they can't shift anywhere else and this online vote has been Xmas come early for them!

Let's see how many people buy it.

Re: New Kit!

Please tell me the club won't be honouring this farce of a vote and be playing in that piece of sh1t next season? An online vote is not reliable enough to base something as important as your home kit on. No-one will buy it cos it looks f**king awful. Come on BFC, a vote is an ok idea, but let's do it properly.

When Simon Glover came out modelling the kit he was greeted with stoney silence.

Some of those around me who had voted for kit 2 said then that they regretted doing so.

Re: New Kit!

Maybe rather than posting your concerns here, you could email/call the club and tell them the same things. if enough people contact them, they may realise that the website vote was open to abuse and may get a re-vote via slips in the clubshop???

Re: New Kit!

Enough people from the club read these sites an I hope they have taken note. All those I speak to want kit 1 and 90% of the posts support it, too.
I'm sure the club won't pay any attention to a couple of over-keen prepubescent, keyboard warriors with too much time on their hands.
Rigged Vote

Nov 20th, 2007 - 8:11 PM
Re: New Kit!

You would have to be a bit thick not to realise an online vote set up like this one was not going to be open to abuse anyone with an ounce of PC knowledge could spot it,
surely when the club saw how many votes there was it would have set of a few alarm bells ringing but it seems not which a bit comical,
given that Colin has posted on here to day about tonights match being on he would have with luck read this thread and do the right thing but I won't hold my breath as they have already paraded the dodgy kit and more than likely been on to the Manufactures with an order,
if its not to late and they don't scrap the result of the rigged vote and do a genuine one then it will just show the opinions of the fans didn't really matter on this subject and shouldn't have been brought to the table in the first place its not as if they are going to admit to making this big **** up is it.
