Message:		This may be old news for some of you, but I wanted to share my recent experience while taking a ride through Ocean Ridge on A-1-A. Last Saturday, my wife and I wanted to take a ride to "air it out" a little after my Mother's memorial service. We took our usual route from Boynton Beach over the Ocean Ave. bridge into Ocean Ridge and north on A-1-A. As we crossed the bridge, I spotted a cruiser that had just made a U-turn and pulled up on the side of the road. As we passed him, doing about 15 mph, he pulled out behind a couple of cars behind us. We made our turn at the light and I noticed the "officer" leap frogging around the cars as well as my wife to get behind me. Yep, on came the lights and the stop was on. Officer "Krumpkie" announced that I was stopped for "illegal" straight pipes. Mind you, I was NOT making any noise, but this "officer" claimed that he spotted my pipes and saw that they were illegal. The pipes in question are V&H Big Radius. I tried to explain that the pipes were baffled internally from V&H. He then produced a telescoping wand and stuck it in the end the pipes. Then said "see, no baffles!". Of course the wand didn't make it to the curve where the baffles are located. He then took my license and commented "You're not Boynton Beach now!" and proceeded to write me up. Here's where it gets interesting, and you should all be warned. He hands me the ticket. I asked if a ticket was totally necessary, or would a warning have served the purpose. The "officer" replied " the residents here don't want you bikers on our streets. They tell the Mayor what to do, he tells my Chief what to do, and my Chief tells me to write tickets". For those who don't know, there has been a cold war going on between Boynton and Ocean Ridge for years. Politics! So I don't know if this was a "Biker Harrassment" stop, or I got ticketed due to the fact that I live in Boynton Beach. Either way, Bikers beware! We rode back through there on our way home and they were pulling bikes over left and right. I am contesting the ticket. If anyone has had the same experience, please let me know how you handled it.
