I have hemochromotosis. I was diagnosed 3years ago after I fell ill with brochitus. I have all the clasic symptoms. Joint pain ,heart flutter, swelling in leggs feet and hands. Severe kidney pain, digestive problems, joint pain in spine, hands. I was working a good job at the time I was diagnosed and when I asked for a medicle leave of absence they saw fit terminate my employment via mail. I soon lost all medical insurance. I had about 4 months worth of blood letting before it became to expensive to continue treatments. The last doctor that I saw diagnosed fatty liver and ordered biopsy to be done but I could afford to put my family any further in debt.
I have been trying to get my local welfare office to give me a medical card so that I might resume treatment and have the rest of the tests done that I need. They refuse to give me a medical card. We have a local health clinic but they do not have the specialist on staff and they are supposed to only charge a minmal amount for treatment. I now owe them over three hundred dollars that I do not have. I have found an attourney to file for SSD on my behalf and I have been waiting for a court date for over a year .
I was wandering if you had any advice on how I might be able to get treatment for my condition. I live in northeast ohio. I also now suffor from insominia and depression.
Any help you might offer will be greatly appreciated.
