Message:   I have been evaluated by my MD, an ENT, a Rheumatologist, and most recently, a Neurologist and they have all come to the same conclusion - I am a difficult case.

Back in the winter of 2005, I was diagnosed with a bacterial infection for 3 consecutive months’ (Dec - March). With each infection, my doctor prescribed Prednisone and an antibiotic. We found out shortly thereafter that the rugs in our new home might have been the cause behind the infections.

On the evening of May 2, 2005 my right ear began to burn and swell. The following morning, the outer part of my ear was filled with white blisters, which drained and disappeared two days later.

The blisters returned in late May and mid June and although the blisters drained and disappeared within 48 hours both times, flu like symptoms, specifically body aches, remained with me from May through mid-July. Other symptoms also included severe fatigue, swelling tongue and occasional jaw, eye and cheek pain.

The last episode of blisters, which were in my left ear, was September. However, since that time, I have been dealing with severed body aches, which include: neck, head, arm and wrists pain; weakness and tingling in both arms; pain in my lower spine and muscle spasms down to both legs.

My doctors have tested me for Malignant Obits Extra, Lupus and MS through x-rays, MRI of the brain and cervical spine and blood work. The MD and the Neuron both suggested an anti-depressant, but I refuse to take any more meds until someone can give me a diagnoses.

All of the doctors seem to agree that I may be dealing with some sort of autoimmune disorder, but they can't confirm. The Neuro has a few different ideas, such as Shingles that has inflamed the roots of my nerves; or an autoimmune of the Thyroid.

This thing, whatever it is, has changed my life. It has severely affected both my personal and professional life. If anyone on this forum has experienced similar symptoms, I would appreciate hearing from you.
