Hello, this is my first time to the site and am looking for advice please.
I have recently been diagnosed with Sjogrens syndrome with possible organ involvement and have an under active thyroid. Docs don’t know yet if it is primary sjogrens or if it is as a result of Lupus. One doc says, quote 'it is a waiting game'! I feel my life is on hold and I am mentally being tortured. I'm sure alot of you can relate to this.
I live in Ireland. We have a relatively small population and therefore statistically there are few sufferers. There is no support group, nor can I locate any other sufferers. I feel I am not getting any understanding from the medical profession either. My general practitioner wants to only treat me for my depression but is ignoring my pains, weight loss , etc. I have to push him to refer me and even then when nothing is found in my gut I have to push again to get something else investigated – liver/pancreas. I feel that the docs that have taken charge of monitoring the advancement of immune disorder are treating me and the condition(s) passively. Not really trying to ‘catch’ organ involvement / damage early. My next visit is July 07 and I am having problems now.
I am being urged by so many people to try Homeopathy and other alternatives. Has anybody out there tried it and what are your opinions?
Does anybody have any other advice or suggestions? I would be very grateful.
