Potential problem concerning the unique FASST ID code with Futaba 2.4GHz
Hi All, It seems as though there is a limited problem surfacing with the Futaba 6EX and 7C 2.4 GHz sets, not the TM-7 module as yet. Although information is limited, as far as I can glean so far, the issue arises with the 7 digit ID code assigned to the transmitter, whereby it will operate other receivers not bound and linked to it. I believe that this has arisen with 2 or 3 sets in the UK and the US. I have had no problems personally in the last 9 months, but there again I am mostly the only person using a 6EX at the Club. I have flown with Martin Mac and Bill Burkinshaw, both on 6EX and we have had no problems. The suggestion currently is that it would be wise to undertake checks at the field if there are more than one Futaba 6EX or 7C set present. This would be a case of turning on all the respective receivers and only one transmitter at a time and making sure that the relevant transmitter only works its own receiver. Mike Smart |

Mike, whilst I have had no problems with the Futaba set it still goes against the grain from previous very bad Futaba experience so am contemplating a top of the range JR set when available. You mentioned once that there has been some bad feedback on the JR/Spectrum stuff but I can find no mention of it on the forums I have visited. Where can I find this please? MM. |

Martin, The JR 9303 2.4GHz is already out, both Dennis Whelton and Chris Vaughan have one. The problems relate specifically to the early Spektrum DX6 & DX7 and receiver lockouts, where there is a power drop and it failsafes. I believe this is sorted now, but I originally read about it on RC Groups about a year or so ago. Mike |

Maple Models now has the test receiver to have the Futaba transmitters checked against - it just takes a minute or two to check in the shop. Mike |
