Do you think they are a figment of people’s imaginations? Do you believe we can be in touch with the spirit world? Tell us about your experiences, we would love to hear them. John. I have been to many investigations and been pushed and prodded by hidden hands?? I think that lots of the ghost activity we see is residual, echos of the past but I also think in a small majority there are spirits who can communicate by noise, feel or smell. I was at Clitheroe castle recently in the keep, and I felt a hand run across my face?? My experiences started about 10 years ago, when i lived in lincoln, I used to go bed at around 8 everynight, twice i woke up in the night thinking i heard someone call my name, but i dismissed it and thought it was my mind playin tricks (both my parents were asleep in bed). It went on for about a week, then nothing, About a year later i went to bed around 10ish and i heard someone calling my name but i wasnt asleep this time, it got louder n i must admit i got quite scared, and got out of bed and went and told me mum, she sat in the room for about an hour to which nothing happened, just as she was about to leave the room she heard it too and at the bottom of my bed there was a rocking chair, it was movin and like a dim grey mist was surrounding it, we both screamed! that was the first experience, to which neither me or my mother can explain!. The second one was in 2005, my nan had past away on christmas day 2004, may 2005 i went to her grave whilst i was there, it was about about 7pm at night and my younger brother was with me, to the left of when i was standing was some willow trees, i happend to look there and i saw her straight up no word of a lie n i double looked n there was nothing there, but it was strange, it was like a mist again but i knew it was her. the last experience i had was only last year,my friends old house too, one of my good friends used to live bout 8 doors down from me, i always used to be at her house, until i went with her up into her top floor room (like an open attic/3rd bedroom), i walked up there n went freezin cold, i couldnt breathe props, it was like i was being stranggled, it was dead weird, n her mum was shocked at what i'd said to her, about what happend, it was bout three weeks later her nan was there (used to be her nan's house) and told me that before she moved in there 65 years ago a guy killed himself in that house in the attic, since she told me that i never went in that house again and funnily enough my friends mum was so convinced that wat i felt which was real to me she put the house up for sale and moved. so Yeah i do believe and i honestly think that you can contact the spirit world! As the newcomer I dont want to 'rock the boat' as it were, but the following may appear as if that is my intention (so appologies now!) Coming from my background as an investigator I choose neither to believe nor disbelieve in the existance of ghosts. This does not make me a sceptic, far from it - I believe that there is a need to investigate these phenomena in a structured and measurable way. If I were to begin an investigation now however to establish whether a 'ghost' was present in any given place I would either have to: 1. define what was meant by the term 'ghost' and look for evidence for or against the existance of this definition or 2. observe the area and collect data on any phenomena that may occur and then define it. In this case I would avoid labelling it 'Ghost' due to the broad terminology in which the word is used by the general public. The above is offered as my opinion and debate is most welcome.
