Message:   The first thing that comes to my mind is, are you keeping your puppy warm enough? Chihuahuas like to be really hot and they need lots of soft blankets to snuggle or "nest" in. Please see following page on our website:

Your puppy will be fine in bed with you. They usually like to get under the covers up near your chest. I have never accidentally rolled over on Gypsy and she has never fallen out of the bed because she doesn't want to get out of the bed unless I do.

Gypsy whined for a couple of days when we first got her at about 8-9 weeks of age untill I realized she needed to be warmer and have the comfort of blankets. I have another page on this subject at:

And by the way, Chihuahuas are masters at training YOU before you can train them, so I am not surprised it already has your fiance charmed! They are so sweet and tiny you can't help but love them.

We just got a 7 week old puppy that whines when she is alone. It's understandable, since it will take time to get used to being away from her mom. I just wanted to see if anyone had suggestions on what I should do to nip it in the bud right away.

She had about an hour car ride and would whine unless she was being held up with her legs dangling for some reason. Even cuddling with her didn't stop it.

Then at night she she lays in her bed for a few hours at a time, but wakes up and starts whining. It's not even a wimper, it's like she is screaming. So of course my fiance picks her up and puts her in bed. She already has him wrapped around her little finger

I'm scared to let her sleep with us, because I'm afraid we'll roll over on her or she'll try to jump off the side. When she's older it will probably be ok. She will also be staying with a babysitter in March, so I want her to be able to be crated overnight for them.
